Visa application
Apply for a visa before travel
Jordanian passport holders must obtain a visa before arriving in Mongolia. Apply through the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website or at the nearest Mongolian embassy. Processing times vary, so start at least 2–3 weeks before your trip.Apply for visaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond departure
Your passport needs at least 6 months of validity from your departure date from Mongolia. Airlines check this at check-in, and immigration at Ulaanbaatar (ULN) enforces it strictly.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of onward travel
Immigration officers at Ulaanbaatar airport routinely ask for a confirmed return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or show it on your phone — they rarely accept verbal promises.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a printed hotel reservation or a letter from your host in Mongolia. Officers may ask for it if you look unsure about where you're staying.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have bank statements or cash equivalent to at least $50 USD per day of your stay. Immigration rarely checks this for short visits, but it's safer to have evidence ready.Recommended
Apply early — no visa on arrival
Jordanian passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival in Mongolia. You must apply online at evisa.mn and receive approval before you travel. Processing can take up to a week, so don't leave it to the last minute.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the e-Visa online
Go to evisa.mn and fill out the application. Upload a scanned copy of your passport bio page and a passport-style photo. Pay the fee online (around $50 USD for a tourist visa). Processing takes 3–7 business days. You'll receive the visa by email as a PDF.
2
Print your visa and pack documents
Print the e-Visa approval email and keep it with your passport. Also print or save your return ticket, first-night hotel booking, and travel insurance certificate. Immigration at Chinggis Khaan International Airport (Ulaanbaatar) will ask to see these.
3
Arrive and go through immigration
At the airport, follow signs to 'Foreign Passports'. Hand over your passport, printed visa, and boarding pass. The officer may ask how long you're staying and where you're staying. Answer clearly. They'll stamp you in — usually for up to 30 days.
