Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for your Zambia eVisa at the official eVisa portal at least 3 business days before departure. The portal charges a processing fee and requires you to upload a passport photo, passport data page, and travel itinerary. Approval comes by email — print the eVisa approval letter and carry it with your passport.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must have at least 6 months validity
Your Jordanian passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Zambia. Immigration officers at Kenneth Kaunda and Harry Mwanga Nkumbula airports check this strictly — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Zambia immigration requires proof of a return or onward ticket before they stamp you in. Airlines at Queen Alia International Airport will also ask to see it at check-in. Have a printed or digital copy of your onward booking ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to carry
Immigration officers may ask for a hotel booking or a letter of invitation from your host in Zambia. Have a printed confirmation or a digital copy on your phone showing the property name, address, and dates of stay.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to carry
You may be asked to show you have enough money for your stay — around $500 USD equivalent in cash, bank statement, or credit card. Having a recent bank statement or a prepaid travel card with a visible balance avoids delays at the border.Recommended
eVisa is the only option
Jordanian passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival in Zambia. You must apply and receive approval before you travel. No exceptions.
Passport validity counts from entry, not departure
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you enter Zambia. If it expires sooner, renew it before applying for the eVisa.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Zambia eVisa website (evisa.zambiaimmigration.gov.zm). Fill in your personal details, passport info, travel dates, and upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $50 for a single-entry tourist eVisa) with a credit or debit card. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days, but can be faster.
2
Receive and print your eVisa
Once approved, you'll get a PDF by email. Print at least one copy — you'll need to show it at check-in and upon arrival in Zambia. Save a digital copy on your phone as backup.
3
Arrive at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (Lusaka) or other entry points
At immigration, present your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket. The officer may ask for your hotel booking. They'll stamp you in — typically for up to 30 days. The whole process takes 5–15 minutes if your documents are ready.
