What happens at the border

1
Apply for eVisa online
Go to evisa.e-gov.kz. Fill in your personal details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (about $80 USD) with a credit or debit card. Processing takes 2–5 business days.
2
Receive eVisa approval
You'll get an email with your eVisa approval. Print a copy and save a PDF on your phone. The eVisa is linked to your passport number, so double-check all details match.
3
Prepare documents for arrival
Before you fly, gather: passport, eVisa printout, return/onward ticket, first night hotel booking, and travel insurance. Keep them in your carry-on.
4
Arrive at Kazakh immigration
At the airport (e.g., Almaty or Nur-Sultan), join the foreign passport queue. Hand over your passport and eVisa. The officer may ask for your return ticket and hotel booking. Answer clearly. You'll get an entry stamp valid for the duration of your eVisa.
