Apply before travel
Kenya passport holders need an eVisa to enter Pakistan. Apply at visa.nadra.gov.pk — the official Pakistan eVisa portal. Processing takes 7–10 working days, so apply at least two weeks before your flight.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid on arrival
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of arrival in Pakistan. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you'll be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration at Pakistani airports routinely asks for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return ticket or a ticket to your next destination ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
You may be asked where you're staying. A hotel confirmation or a letter from your host in Pakistan works. Keep a copy on your phone or printed.Recommended
Proof of funds
Bank statement or cash
Officers can ask for proof you can support yourself during your stay. Carry a recent bank statement or enough cash (around $50 USD per day) to show you're covered.Recommended
Apply early — no exceptions
The eVisa takes 7–10 working days. If you apply too late, you won't get it in time. Airlines check for an approved eVisa at check-in. No visa = no boarding.
Overstay fines add up fast
Overstaying costs USD 10 per day (approx. PKR 2,800), capped at USD 500 (approx. PKR 140,000). It also hurts your chances of getting a future visa. Set a reminder to leave on time.
Malaria and dengue are serious risks
Malaria is high risk in all areas, especially rural Sindh and Balochistan. Dengue is common during monsoon season. Take prophylaxis for malaria, use mosquito repellent, and consider travel insurance that covers medical evacuation.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your eVisa online
Go to visa.nadra.gov.pk, fill in the application, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (USD 60 for single entry, USD 100 for multiple entry) by credit card. You'll get a confirmation email. Processing takes 7–10 working days.
2
Book your flight and accommodation
Book a return or onward ticket. Reserve your first night's accommodation — a hotel booking confirmation or an invitation letter from your host works. Keep digital copies on your phone.
3
Prepare your documents for the airport
At check-in, the airline will check your passport validity (6+ months from arrival) and your eVisa approval. Have both ready. Also have your return ticket and accommodation confirmation handy.
4
Arrive at a Pakistani airport and go through immigration
You'll land at Jinnah International (Karachi), Allama Iqbal International (Lahore), or Islamabad International. Join the 'Foreigners' queue. Hand over your passport, eVisa printout (or digital copy), and return ticket. The officer may ask about your accommodation and funds. Answer clearly. You'll get a stamp allowing your stay.
