Kenyan passport holders can enter Rwanda without a visa for stays up to 180 days. This visa-free arrangement has been in place since 2024, making travel between the two countries straightforward.

Kenya and Rwanda have a bilateral agreement allowing visa-free travel for up to 180 days. No need to apply or pay anything.
Passport validity is critical
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land. If it's close to expiry, renew before you go — you will be turned away.
What happens at the border

Arrive at Kigali International Airport or land border
You'll join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Have your passport and return ticket ready. The officer will check your passport validity, stamp you in, and you're done. No visa fee, no forms.

Proceed to baggage claim and customs
After immigration, collect your luggage. Customs is usually quick — just walk through unless you have something to declare.

Exit the airport
Once through customs, you're free to exit. Taxis and ride-hailing apps like Yego are available outside.
