What happens at the border

1
Apply for e-visa online
Go to e-visa.td, create an account, fill in your personal and travel details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $100–$150 depending on visa type) and submit. Processing takes 5–14 days. You'll receive an approval PDF by email.
2
Print your visa approval
Print the PDF approval letter. Also save a copy on your phone as backup. You'll need to show it at check-in and on arrival in N'Djamena.
3
Arrive at N'Djamena International Airport
After landing, follow signs to 'Immigration' or 'Visa on Arrival' (even though you have a visa). Present your passport, printed visa approval, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation. An officer may ask a few questions about your stay. They'll stamp your passport — keep the visa page safe.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, collect your bags from the carousel. There's usually a customs check — declare any expensive electronics or large amounts of cash. Then you're free to exit the arrivals hall.
