Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a UAE eVisa at the ICA Smart Services portal. Processing takes 1–3 business days. The eVisa is valid for 60 days from issue date and allows a single entry.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months
Your passport must have at least 6 months of validity remaining from your date of entry into the UAE. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for all visitors
Immigration officers at UAE airports routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or onward ticket ready. Without one, you may be refused entry.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a confirmed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your UAE host. Immigration may ask where you are staying — having a booking reference speeds things up.Recommended
Proof of funds
Bank statement or cash
Have a recent bank statement or enough cash to cover your stay. UAE immigration rarely asks for this, but it helps if questioned about your ability to support yourself.Recommended
eVisa required — no visa on arrival
Cambodian passport holders cannot get a visa at the airport. You must apply and receive approval before your flight. Plan ahead.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in the UAE, not from your departure date. Check your expiry now.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your eVisa online
Go to the ICA smart services portal (smartservices.ica.gov.ae) and fill out the eVisa application. Upload a digital passport photo and a copy of your passport data page. Pay the fee online. Processing usually takes 3–5 working days.
2
Receive and print your eVisa
Once approved, you'll get the eVisa by email. Print a copy and save a PDF on your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and at UAE immigration.
3
Arrive at UAE airport
At Dubai, Abu Dhabi, or Sharjah airport, go to the immigration counter for foreign passports. Hand over your passport and printed eVisa. The officer may ask for your return ticket and hotel booking. Expect a short queue — 10–20 minutes is typical.
4
Get your passport stamped
The officer will stamp your passport with a 30-day visit entry. No additional forms needed. You're free to enter.
