Cambodian passport holders need an eVisa to enter Nigeria. It's a single-entry permit, and you must apply online before traveling. As of 2026, the process is straightforward but requires careful attention to passport validity and supporting documents.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Nigeria eVisa
Apply for a Nigeria eVisa at the official Immigration Service portal before you travel. The eVisa is a single-entry permit — you need to specify your travel dates and upload a passport photo and bio page. Processing takes 3 to 5 business days, so apply at least a week before your flight.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for the entire stay
Your Cambodian passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry into Nigeria. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding. Carry a photocopy of the bio page as backup.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Nigeria
Immigration officers at Lagos and Abuja airports routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. A printed itinerary or e-ticket showing your flight out of Nigeria within the eVisa validity period works. Without it, expect to be questioned or denied entry.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Have a printed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Nigeria. Immigration may ask where you are staying — a booking confirmation with the hotel name and address is sufficient. A simple screenshot of a booking.com confirmation works.Recommended
Proof of funds
Cash or bank statement
Carry a bank statement or credit card showing you have enough funds for your stay. Immigration rarely asks, but if they do, $500 USD equivalent in cash or a recent statement is the standard. ATMs in Lagos dispense naira, but bring some USD as backup.Recommended
Passport validity is strict
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you enter Nigeria. If it's even a day short, you'll be denied boarding or entry. Check your expiry date now.
eVisa is single-entry only
The eVisa allows one entry. If you leave Nigeria (even for a day trip), you'll need a new visa to return. Plan your itinerary accordingly.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for eVisa online
Go to portal.immigration.gov.ng, create an account, fill in the application form, upload your passport photo and passport data page, and pay the fee. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days. You'll receive an approval letter by email — print it.
2
Pack your documents
Before you leave, print or save to your phone: the eVisa approval letter, your passport (valid 6+ months), return flight booking, and first-night hotel confirmation. Keep them together in a folder.
3
Arrive at a Nigerian airport
You'll land at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (LOS) in Lagos or Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (ABV) in Abuja. Follow signs to 'Immigration' — there's a separate queue for eVisa holders. Present your passport, eVisa approval, and return ticket. The officer will stamp you in.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, pick up your bags from the carousel, then proceed through customs. If you have nothing to declare, use the green channel. You're in.
