eVisa application
Apply before travel
Cambodian passport holders need a visa to enter Taiwan. Apply online at the Taiwan eVisa Portal — processing takes about 5 working days. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport must be valid for the full duration of your stay in Taiwan. Taiwan does not enforce a 6-month validity rule for Cambodian passports, but airlines may ask for it — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Show proof of departure
Immigration officers at Taoyuan Airport routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready showing your departure from Taiwan within your visa's validity.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Officers may ask where you're staying. Have a hotel reservation, hostel booking, or an invitation letter from a host in Taiwan ready to show.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can cover your stay
Carry bank statements or a credit card showing you have enough money for your trip. There's no fixed minimum, but around NT$10,000 per day is a safe benchmark.Recommended
Apply early — no visa on arrival
There is no visa on arrival for Cambodian passport holders. You must apply online at visawebapp.boca.gov.tw and receive approval before you fly. Processing takes 3–5 working days, so don't leave it to the last minute.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your visa approval, return ticket, and accommodation booking as PDFs or screenshots on your phone. Also print paper copies — phone batteries die, and airport Wi-Fi isn't always reliable.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for a visa online
Go to visawebapp.boca.gov.tw, fill out the application form, upload your passport photo and passport copy, pay the fee (around 1,600 TWD for a single-entry visa), and submit. Processing usually takes 3–5 working days. You'll receive an approval email with a visa sticker to print.
2
Prepare your documents
Print the visa approval, your return ticket, and your accommodation booking. Also have your passport ready with at least 6 months validity and 1 blank page.
3
Arrive at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) or Kaohsiung International Airport (KHH)
Join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Hand over your passport, visa approval, and return ticket. The officer may ask about your plans — answer briefly and clearly. They'll stamp your passport and let you through.
4
Collect your luggage and proceed to customs
After immigration, grab your bags from the carousel. Customs is usually green channel (nothing to declare) unless you have restricted items. Exit into the arrivals hall.
