Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the entire stay in the Schengen area
Your passport needs to be valid for the full duration of your stay in the Schengen zone. Czech immigration does not enforce a 6-month validity rule for South Korean passport holders, but your airline might ask for it at check-in.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from the Schengen area
Immigration officers at Prague Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket showing you leave the Schengen zone within 90 days. Have a printed or digital copy ready — budget airlines sometimes check this at boarding too.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Have a hotel confirmation or a letter from your host in the Czech Republic ready. Immigration rarely asks for it, but if they do, a simple booking printout or email works fine.Recommended
Proof of funds
Cash, card, or bank statement
Carry a bank statement or credit card showing you can cover your stay. The Czech Republic doesn't have a fixed minimum, but around 1,100 CZK per day (roughly €45) is a safe benchmark if asked.Recommended
Schengen 90/180 rule
Your 90-day visa-free stay applies to all 27 Schengen countries combined. Days spent in France, Germany, Italy, etc., all count toward the same 90-day limit. Use the Schengen calculator to track your days.
Overstaying is serious
Even one day over the 90-day limit can result in a fine (up to 3,000 EUR) and a ban from Schengen for up to 5 years. Set a reminder to leave before day 90.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Prague Václav Havel Airport (PRG) or other Schengen border
You'll join the 'Non-EU' queue at passport control. Have your passport and boarding pass ready. The officer may ask: purpose of visit, length of stay, where you're staying. Answer briefly and honestly. They'll stamp your passport with the entry date.
2
Present documents if asked
If the officer requests proof of onward travel or accommodation, show the documents you prepared. Keep them in your hand luggage, not checked bags.
3
Receive entry stamp and proceed
Once stamped, you're free to enter. The stamp shows your allowed stay (90 days). Keep your passport safe — you'll need it for hotel check-ins and any police checks.
