Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to stay in Armenia. Border officers at Zvartnots Airport check this at the booth — if it expires before you leave, you'll be denied boarding in Kuwait.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Armenia
Immigration at Yerevan airport asks for a return or onward ticket on arrival. Have a printed copy or the booking confirmation ready on your phone — they check this more often than not.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel reservation or an invitation letter from your host. Officers rarely ask for it, but having it avoids a 15-minute delay at the counter.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have a bank statement or credit card showing at least 50,000 AMD (~$130) per day of your stay. Border control almost never asks for it, but it's your backup if questioned.Recommended
No visa needed — but don't skip the basics
Kuwaiti passport holders can enter Armenia visa-free for up to 180 days. However, immigration may still ask for a return ticket and accommodation proof. Keep digital copies on your phone.
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date. If it expires sooner, you will be refused entry. Check your passport now, not at the airport.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents
Before you leave Kuwait, check your passport validity (6+ months from arrival), print or save your return ticket and accommodation confirmation, and arrange travel insurance. Download an eSIM or buy a local SIM at Zvartnots Airport.
2
Arrive at Zvartnots Airport (EVN)
After landing in Yerevan, follow signs to 'Passport Control'. There are separate queues for Armenian citizens and foreigners. Join the 'Foreign Passports' line.
3
Present your passport
Hand over your passport to the immigration officer. They will scan it, check your face, and stamp your entry. You do not need to fill out an arrival card. The officer may ask your purpose of visit and how long you plan to stay.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After passport control, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There is usually no customs declaration for personal items. Walk through the green channel if you have nothing to declare.
