What happens at the border

1
Apply for a Schengen visa at the Bulgarian embassy
Visit the Embassy of Bulgaria in Kuwait City (Block 4, Street 103, Villa 22, Jabriya). Book an appointment online or by phone. Submit your application, passport, photos, insurance, flight and hotel bookings, bank statements, and pay the fee. Processing takes 10–15 working days.
2
Collect your passport with visa
Once approved, you'll get a visa sticker in your passport. Check the validity dates and number of entries (single or multiple). If anything is wrong, ask for correction immediately.
3
Arrive at a Bulgarian airport
Fly into Sofia Airport (SOF), Burgas (BOJ), or Varna (VAR). At passport control, hand over your passport with the visa. The officer may ask for your return ticket and accommodation. Answer clearly. You'll get an entry stamp.
4
Register with local police (if staying longer than 3 days)
If you're staying in a hotel, they handle registration automatically. If in a private home, your host must register you at the local police station within 3 days of arrival. This is a legal requirement.
