What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to https://evisa.immigration.gov.gh/ and create an account. Fill in the application form with your passport details, travel dates, and contact information. Upload your photo and supporting documents. Pay the fee with a credit/debit card.
2
Wait for approval
Standard processing takes about 96 hours (4 business days). Express processing takes 5 hours. You'll receive an email notification when your eVisa is approved. Download and print the approval notice—you'll need it for check-in and at immigration.
3
Fly to Ghana
At the airport, present your passport and printed eVisa approval at check-in. The airline will verify your visa before issuing a boarding pass. On arrival at Kotoka International Airport in Accra, go to the immigration desk, show your passport, eVisa, and yellow fever certificate. The officer will stamp your passport and let you through.
4
Enter Ghana
After clearing immigration, collect your luggage and proceed through customs. If you have nothing to declare, you can exit through the green channel. Your eVisa is valid for a single entry, so don't leave Ghana and try to re-enter on the same visa.

If your application is rejected, you'll receive an email explaining the reason. You can reapply with corrected information, but the fee is non-refundable. Common reasons for rejection include incorrect passport details, poor photo quality, or missing documents. Double-check everything before submitting.
