Available at major airports
Get a 30-day single-entry visa on arrival at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (Dhaka) and other major entry points. Pay $51 USD in cash (exact change preferred) and have 2 passport-size photos ready. The visa counter opens for all arriving flights — expect 15–30 minutes processing time.Apply onlineRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for 6 months beyond stay
Your passport must have at least 6 months of remaining validity from your date of entry into Bangladesh. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for visa on arrival
Immigration officers at Dhaka airport routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket before granting the visa on arrival. Have a printed copy or show it on your phone — a bus or train ticket to India also works.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a printed hotel reservation or an invitation letter from your host in Bangladesh. Immigration may ask for it during the visa-on-arrival process, especially if you are staying more than a few days.Recommended
Proof of funds
Cash or bank statement
Have at least $500 USD in cash or a recent bank statement showing sufficient funds. Immigration officers rarely check this for visa-on-arrival applicants, but it helps if questioned about your stay.Recommended
Cash only for visa fee
The visa on arrival fee must be paid in cash. No cards, no mobile payments. Bring US dollars, euros, or Bangladeshi Taka. ATMs are available after immigration, but not before.
Visa on arrival is not extendable
You cannot extend the visa on arrival. If you overstay, you'll be fined 200 Taka per day (about $2.50 USD). Plan your trip within the 30-day limit.

3
Pay the fee

4
Submit documents

Processing takes about 10–20 minutes. You'll get your passport back with the visa sticker inside. Double-check the validity dates.
6
Proceed to immigration
