Kazakh passport holders need an eVisa to enter Gabon. Apply online before you travel — there's no visa on arrival at Libreville airport. The eVisa system has been active since 2023 and covers most short visits.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Gabon eVisa at evisa.gouv.ga at least 72 hours before departure. The portal accepts passport scans and a digital photo — processing usually takes 2–3 business days. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport to immigration.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Gabon. Immigration at Libreville Leon Mba International Airport checks this strictly — airlines also enforce it at check-in.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket at the border. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight itinerary ready — they may deny entry without one.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a hotel reservation confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host in Gabon. Immigration may ask where you are staying during the first few days — having a booking printed out avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show financial means
Have bank statements or a credit card showing access to at least 200,000 CFA francs (~$330) for your stay. Officers rarely ask, but if they do, you need to demonstrate you can cover expenses.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccination is mandatory
Gabon requires proof of yellow fever vaccination for all travellers aged 1 year and older. Carry your International Certificate of Vaccination (yellow card) — immigration officers at Libreville airport do check.
eVisa processing can be slow
The official processing time is 3–7 business days, but it can stretch to 10 days during peak travel periods. Apply at least 2 weeks before your flight to avoid stress.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to evisa.gouv.ga, create an account, fill in your details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around 70,000 XAF / ~$120 USD) by credit card. Processing takes 3–7 business days. You'll receive the eVisa by email.
2
Print or save the eVisa
Print a paper copy and also save the PDF on your phone. Airlines often check for the eVisa before issuing a boarding pass.
3
Arrive at Libreville International Airport (LBV)
After landing, follow signs to 'Immigration'. Join the queue for 'Foreign Passports'. Hand over your passport, eVisa printout, and return ticket. The officer stamps you in. The whole process usually takes 15–30 minutes.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, pick up your bags from the carousel, then walk through customs (green channel if nothing to declare). You're in Gabon.
