Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay in Hong Kong
Your Kazakhstan passport needs to be valid for at least the full duration of your 14-day stay. Hong Kong immigration does not enforce the 6-month validity rule for visa-free visitors, but your airline might — check with them before departure.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Hong Kong
Immigration officers at Hong Kong International Airport routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready — they check this before granting entry.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host in Hong Kong. Officers rarely ask for it, but having it ready avoids delays if they do.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during the stay
Hong Kong does not publish a fixed minimum amount, but having access to around 3,000 HKD in cash or a credit card is a safe bet. Immigration may ask how you plan to cover your expenses.Recommended
14-day limit is strict
You cannot extend your stay beyond 14 days. Overstaying can lead to fines up to HKD 5,000 and a ban of up to 5 years. Plan your departure carefully.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Hong Kong, not from when you leave. Check your passport now.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Hong Kong International Airport
Follow signs to 'Arrivals' and then 'Immigration'. There are separate queues for Hong Kong residents and visitors. Join the 'Visitors' queue.
2
Present your passport at the immigration counter
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask your purpose of visit, how long you're staying, and where you're staying. Answer clearly and briefly.
3
Receive your entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with a 14-day visa-free entry. Check the stamp says '14 days' before leaving the counter. If it says less, ask the officer to correct it.
4
Collect your luggage and proceed to customs
After immigration, collect your bags from the carousel. Customs is usually green channel (nothing to declare) unless you have restricted items.
