RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply online before travel

Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of stay
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Chad. Airlines at Almaty and Nur-Sultan check this strictly before issuing a boarding pass.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Chad
Immigration officers in N'Djamena routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Budget airlines like Ethiopian Airlines or Turkish Airlines may deny boarding without one.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Have a printed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Chad. Immigration may ask for this during the entry interview, especially if you're arriving without a pre-arranged tour.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show sufficient cash or card balance
Carry at least 200,000 XAF (about $330 USD) in cash or have a bank statement showing available funds. Immigration rarely checks this, but it's safer to have proof ready.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccine required
You must show a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate at immigration. Get the shot at least 10 days before travel. No exceptions.
Currency and cash
Chad uses the Central African CFA franc (XAF). Credit cards are rarely accepted outside major hotels. Bring enough euros or US dollars to exchange at the airport or banks in N'Djamena.
