Yellow fever vaccine is mandatory
You must show proof of yellow fever vaccination (yellow card) at immigration. Without it, you may be denied entry or forced to get vaccinated on arrival — at your own cost.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your e-visa approval, passport, and return ticket as PDFs on your phone and in cloud storage. If you lose the printed copy, you can still show the digital version.

Apply for the e-visa online
Go to the official Uganda e-visa portal (visas.immigration.go.ug) and fill out the application. You'll need to upload a passport photo, a copy of your passport data page, and your travel itinerary. Pay the fee online with a credit or debit card.

Wait for approval
Processing usually takes 2–5 business days. Check your email (including spam) for the approval letter. Print it out and keep a digital copy on your phone.

Arrive at Entebbe or land border
When you land at Entebbe International Airport (or arrive at a land border like Busia or Malaba), go to the immigration desk. Present your passport, the printed e-visa approval, and your return ticket. The officer will stamp you in — usually for up to 90 days.
