Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Cameroon. Airlines at Vientiane and Bangkok check this before boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of exit
Immigration at Yaoundé Nsimalen and Douala airports routinely asks for a confirmed onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or ticket to a third country.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a hotel reservation confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host in Cameroon. Officers at passport control may ask for it, especially if you arrive without a pre-booked hotel.Recommended
Proof of funds
Bank statement or cash
Have a recent bank statement showing at least 500 USD (or equivalent in CFA francs) for your stay. Immigration can request proof of sufficient funds on arrival.Recommended
eVisa is mandatory — no alternatives
There is no visa on arrival or visa-free entry for Laos passport holders. You must apply and receive approval before your flight. Boarding without an eVisa will result in denial at check-in.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your eVisa PDF, passport bio page, and return ticket to your phone and email. If you lose the printed copy, you can show the digital version at immigration.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for eVisa Online
Go to the official Cameroon eVisa website (evisacameroon.com). Fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee online (typically around $100–$150, depending on processing speed).
2
Receive eVisa Approval
Processing takes 3–7 business days for standard applications. You'll get an approval email with a PDF. Print two copies — one to present at check-in and one for immigration.
3
Arrive at Cameroon Airport
At Yaoundé Nsimalen International Airport or Douala International Airport, proceed to the immigration counter. Hand over your passport, eVisa printout, and return ticket. They may ask for your accommodation address. Expect a short queue — 15–30 minutes is typical.
4
Get Entry Stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with the eVisa. Check the stamp for the allowed stay duration (usually 30 days). Keep the eVisa copy with your passport during your entire stay.
