Laos passport holders can enter Singapore without a visa for stays up to 30 days. This policy applies in 2026 for tourism, business meetings, and short family visits. Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months from your arrival date and you have a return or onward ticket.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your stay
Singapore immigration enforces the 6-month validity rule strictly. If your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding by the airline. Carry a photocopy of your passport bio page as backup.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Singapore
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed onward ticket within 30 days. Budget airlines check this at check-in and may deny boarding without it. A bus or ferry ticket to Malaysia works as onward proof.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Have your hotel confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host ready. Immigration rarely asks for it, but if they do, a printed booking confirmation resolves the question immediately.Recommended
Proof of funds
Cash, card, or bank statement
Carry at least 1,000 SGD in cash or have a credit card with available limit. Immigration may ask how you plan to fund your stay. A recent bank statement or ATM card suffices.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry. Airlines check this before boarding — if your passport expires sooner, you won't be allowed to fly. Renew your passport well in advance.
Keep a copy of your return ticket
Immigration officers at Changi Airport frequently ask to see proof of onward travel. A screenshot or printed copy of your flight, bus, or ferry ticket out of Singapore is enough. Don't rely on having internet access to show it.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Changi Airport or other entry point
You'll go through immigration at Changi Airport (Terminals 1-4), Woodlands Checkpoint (from Malaysia), or the ferry terminals. Follow the 'Foreign Visitors' signs.
2
Queue at the immigration counter
Join the line for 'All Passports' or 'Foreign Visitors'. Have your passport and return ticket ready. The officer will scan your passport, take a photo, and may ask your purpose of visit and where you're staying.
3
Receive your entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with the date of entry and the allowed stay (30 days). Check the stamp before leaving the counter. That's it — you're in.
