What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Dili's Presidente Nicolau Lobato International Airport
Most visitors fly into Dili (DIL). After landing, follow the signs to the immigration hall. There are usually separate queues for citizens and foreigners — join the foreigner queue.
2
Present your passport at the immigration desk
Hand over your passport with your arrival card (if given on the plane). The officer will check your passport validity, may ask about your stay, and will stamp you in. No visa fee is charged for Lao citizens.
3
Collect your baggage and exit
After clearing immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. Keep your passport handy — you may need to show it again at the exit.
