Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before departure
Apply for a DR Congo eVisa at visa.gouv.cd at least 2 weeks before travel. The online form asks for passport scan, photo, and travel itinerary. Processing takes 5–10 business days — do not book non-refundable flights until approved.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport must be valid for the full duration of your stay in DR Congo. At least two blank pages are required for entry and exit stamps.Required
Return or onward ticket
Checked at check-in
Airlines enforce this strictly — you need a confirmed onward or return ticket before boarding. Immigration at N'Djili Airport in Kinshasa also asks for it on arrival.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Have a printed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in DR Congo. Immigration officers occasionally ask for it during the visa-on-arrival process.Recommended
Proof of funds
Cash or bank statement
Carry at least $500 USD in cash or a recent bank statement showing sufficient funds. Immigration may ask to see proof of financial means for your stay.Recommended
No visa on arrival — apply before you fly
Lebanese passport holders cannot get a visa at the airport. You must have an approved eVisa before you board your flight. Airlines will check this at check-in.
Yellow fever vaccine required
You must carry a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate (yellow card). Immigration officers in DR Congo routinely ask to see it. Without it, you may be denied entry or forced to get vaccinated on the spot.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official DR Congo visa portal (visa.gouv.cd) and complete the online application. Upload a digital passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the visa fee online. Processing time varies — apply at least 2 weeks before your trip.
2
Receive and print your eVisa
Once approved, you'll receive the eVisa by email. Print a copy and also save a PDF on your phone. You'll need to show it at the airport check-in counter and again at immigration in DR Congo.
3
Prepare your documents for departure
Before you leave for the airport, gather: your passport (valid 6+ months), printed eVisa, return/onward ticket, and first night accommodation confirmation. Keep them in a single folder in your carry-on.
4
Arrive at N'Djili International Airport (FIH) in Kinshasa
After landing, follow signs to 'Immigration' or 'Visa on Arrival' (even though you have an eVisa). Join the queue for foreign passports. Present your passport, eVisa, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation. The officer will stamp your passport and let you through.
5
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim. Then head to customs — usually a quick bag scan. Exit into the arrivals hall. If you arranged a transfer, look for your driver outside.
