Not required
No separate arrival declaration is required for Ghana based on current regulations. Not required
Apply early — don't rely on express
The express option (5 hours) sounds great, but it's expensive and still depends on the system working smoothly. Apply at least a week before your flight to avoid paying the $442 express fee or risking a delay.
Yellow fever certificate is mandatory
Ghanaian immigration will ask for your yellow fever certificate. If you don't have it, you may be denied entry or forced to get a vaccination on the spot (which can be a hassle). Get vaccinated at least 10 days before you travel and carry the certificate with your passport.
No visa extensions
The eVisa cannot be extended. If you overstay, you'll face fines and potential deportation. Plan your trip to fit within the authorized stay — if you need more time, you'll have to leave and re-enter with a new visa.

What happens at the border

1
Apply online for the eVisa
Go to https://evisa.immigration.gov.gh/ and create an account. Fill in your personal details, passport info, and travel plans. Upload your photo and passport scan. Double-check everything before submitting — errors cause delays.
2
Pay the visa fee
Choose standard ($260, 96 hours) or express ($442, 5 hours) processing. Pay by credit/debit card. You'll get a confirmation email with a reference number.
3
Receive your eVisa approval
Once approved, you'll receive an email with your eVisa attached as a PDF. Print it out — you'll need a physical copy to show at check-in and at Ghanaian immigration. The eVisa is usually valid for a single entry within 3 months of issue.
4
Arrive at Kotoka International Airport (Accra)
At the airport, go to the immigration desk. Present your passport, printed eVisa, and yellow fever certificate. The officer will check your details and stamp your passport. Have your return ticket and accommodation info ready in case they ask.

Frequently asked questions

Standard processing takes 96 hours (about 4 business days), while express processing takes 5 hours. The clock starts after you submit a complete application and pay the fee. Apply well in advance to avoid last-minute stress.
No, the eVisa is not extendable. You must leave Ghana before the authorized stay expires. If you need a longer stay, you'll have to exit and re-enter with a new visa, or contact the Ghana Immigration Service before your visa expires to discuss options (though extension is generally not granted).
The fee is non-refundable. You'll receive a rejection email with a reason. You can reapply, but you'll need to pay the fee again. Common reasons include incorrect information, poor photo quality, or missing documents. Double-check everything before submitting.
If you're staying in the airport transit area and not entering Ghana, you may not need it. But if you're leaving the airport or staying overnight, you'll need the certificate. It's safest to get vaccinated — it's required for entry and also protects you.
The eVisa is valid for entry at all official ports of entry, including Kotoka International Airport and land borders. However, the application asks for your point of entry, so list where you'll actually arrive. If you change your entry point, it's usually fine, but carry your eVisa printout.
The eVisa typically allows a stay of up to 30 days. The exact duration is printed on your approval. Make sure you don't overstay — overstaying can lead to fines or deportation.
No. The eVisa must be obtained before you travel. There is no visa-on-arrival option for Lebanese passport holders. You must have the approved eVisa printed before boarding your flight.
