Valid passport
Must be valid for stay duration
Your passport must be valid for the entire period you plan to stay in Bahrain. No minimum validity beyond your departure date is required by Bahraini law, but airlines may enforce 6 months — check with your carrier.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration at Bahrain International Airport routinely asks for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed copy or a digital booking ready on your phone.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Officers may ask where you're staying — a hotel confirmation or a letter from your host in Bahrain works. Keep a copy handy.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Carry bank statements or a credit card showing you have enough funds for your stay. Bahrain doesn't publish a fixed minimum, but having around 500 BHD (~$1,300 USD) visible is safe.Recommended
Airlines may enforce 6-month passport validity
Bahraini law doesn't require 6 months of passport validity beyond your stay, but many airlines do. If your passport expires within 6 months of your entry date, you could be denied boarding. Check with your airline before you fly.
Overstay fines add up fast
Overstay fines are BHD 10 (~$27 USD) per day, capped at BHD 500 (~$1,326 USD). Pay at the immigration office before departure. Overstaying can also affect future visa applications to Bahrain and other Gulf countries.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your eVisa online
Go to evisa.gov.bh, fill in your details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (BHD 9 for single entry, BHD 15 for multiple entry). Processing takes 1–3 business days. You'll receive the approval by email — print it.
2
Pack your documents
Print your eVisa approval, keep your passport handy, and save your return ticket and hotel booking on your phone. Also carry bank statements or a credit card as proof of funds.
3

After landing, follow signs to immigration. Join the queue for foreign passport holders. Have your passport, eVisa printout, and return ticket ready. The officer may ask where you're staying and how long you'll be in Bahrain. Answer clearly. You'll get a stamp allowing up to 30 days.
4
