What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Pakistan visa portal (visa.nadra.gov.pk), create an account, fill out the application form, upload your passport scan and photo, and pay the fee. Processing typically takes 5-7 business days, so apply at least a week before your departure.
2
Receive your eVisa by email
Once approved, you'll get an email with your eVisa document. Print a copy and also save it on your phone. Check that your name and passport number match exactly.
3
Arrive at the airport in Pakistan
At Islamabad, Karachi, or Lahore, go to the immigration counter. Present your passport and the printed eVisa. The officer will scan your passport, take your fingerprints, and stamp your entry. Keep the stamped entry slip — you'll need it when you leave.
4
Clear customs and exit
After immigration, collect your luggage and go through customs. If you have nothing to declare, use the green channel. Then you're free to enter Pakistan.

No, the eVisa is not extendable. You must leave before the validity period ends. If you need to stay longer, you'd have to exit and reapply.
Only if you're arriving from a country with yellow fever risk. Sri Lanka is not on that list, so you likely don't need it. But if you've traveled to a risk country recently, carry your vaccination certificate.
You'll be denied entry and put on the next flight back. There's no visa-on-arrival for Sri Lankans, so don't risk it. Always have your eVisa approved before you fly.
The standard eVisa is single-entry. If you plan to leave and re-enter Pakistan, you'll need to apply for a new visa each time.
The eVisa typically allows a stay of up to 30 days. Check your approval letter for the exact dates — overstaying can lead to fines or future entry bans.
Most visits are trouble-free, but check your government's travel advisory for current safety information. Avoid border areas and follow local advice. Keep your passport and valuables secure.
