Lithuanian passport holders can enter Albania without a visa for stays up to 90 days. This policy has been in place for years and remains unchanged in 2026. Just show up at the border with your passport and you're good to go.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your stay
Your Lithuanian passport needs at least 3 months of validity beyond your planned departure from Albania. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Albania
Immigration officers at Tirana International Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready — a bus or ferry ticket out of Albania also works.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Border officers may ask where you are staying. A hotel confirmation email or a letter from a host with their address is enough. No need to book the full 90 days — just the first few nights covers you.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Officers can ask for proof of funds — roughly €50–€100 per day of your stay. A bank statement or a credit card with a decent limit usually satisfies them. I have never been asked, but carry a statement just in case.Recommended
Passport validity counts from entry day
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you arrive in Albania, not from when you leave. If it expires sooner, renew it before you go.
Overstaying is costly
Overstaying your 90-day visa-free period can result in fines and a ban from re-entering Albania. Keep track of your entry date and leave on time.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at the border
Whether you fly into Tirana International Airport (TIA) or cross by land from Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia, or Greece, you'll go through passport control. At Tirana airport, the queue moves fast — usually under 15 minutes.
2
Present your passport
Hand over your Lithuanian passport. The officer will check the validity and stamp it. No forms to fill, no visa to show. Just a quick glance and a stamp.
3
Answer any questions (rare)
Occasionally an officer will ask how long you're staying or where you're staying. Answer briefly and honestly. They almost never ask for proof of funds or return tickets, but have them ready.
4
Collect your passport and go
Once stamped, you're free to enter. The whole process takes 2–5 minutes. Keep the entry stamp safe — you'll need it when you leave.

You'll likely be denied entry. Renew your passport before traveling. The 6-month validity is a strict requirement for visa-free entry.
It's not always checked, but it's a legal requirement. Have a return or onward ticket booked and a screenshot saved on your phone. If you're flying, the airline may ask for it at check-in.
No, but it's strongly recommended. Albania's healthcare system is not free for tourists, and a hospital visit can cost hundreds of euros per day. Insurance covers that.
