Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Lithuanian passport needs to be valid for the entire time you're in Hong Kong. Hong Kong does not require 6 months of validity beyond your departure date, but your airline might enforce this — check with them before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Hong Kong
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed onward ticket at the border. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight out of Hong Kong ready — they check this at passport control.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a printed hotel confirmation or a letter from your host in Hong Kong. Officers rarely ask for it, but having it ready avoids delays if they do.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient cash or bank statement
Immigration may ask how you'll support yourself during your stay. Have a bank statement or credit card showing you can cover expenses — no specific minimum amount is published, but around 500 HKD per day is a safe benchmark.Recommended
Visa-free for 90 days
Lithuanian passport holders do not need a visa for stays up to 90 days. This applies to tourism, business, and transit. No application or fee required.
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry. Airlines check this before boarding. If your passport expires sooner, renew it before you fly.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Hong Kong International Airport
Follow signs to 'Arrivals' and then 'Immigration'. There are separate queues for Hong Kong residents, e-Channel, and visitors. Join the 'Visitors' queue.
2
Present your passport and boarding pass
Hand over your Lithuanian passport and the boarding pass from your last flight. The officer will scan your passport and may ask a few questions (purpose of visit, length of stay, where you're staying). Answer clearly and briefly.
3
Provide onward ticket if asked
If the officer requests proof of onward travel, show your return or onward ticket (printed or on your phone). This is not always asked, but have it ready.
4
Receive entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with the date of entry and the allowed stay (usually 90 days). Check the stamp before walking away — confirm the dates are correct.
5
Collect luggage and proceed to customs
After immigration, go to the baggage claim carousel for your flight, then walk through the green 'Nothing to Declare' channel if you have no restricted items. If you have goods to declare (e.g., large amounts of cash, tobacco, alcohol), use the red channel.
