Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Lithuanian passport needs to be valid only for the period you plan to stay in Kyrgyzstan. Airlines at departure may ask for 6 months validity — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Kyrgyzstan
Immigration officers at Manas International Airport routinely ask for a printed or digital onward ticket. Have a confirmed flight out of Kyrgyzstan within your 60-day visa-free window.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host. Border officers rarely ask for it, but having it ready avoids delays at the counter.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
Have access to at least $50 USD per day of your stay — a bank statement or credit card works. Officers almost never check this for Lithuanian passport holders, but the regulation exists.Recommended
Visa-free entry is straightforward
No application, no fee, no embassy visit. Just show up with a valid passport and a return ticket. The 60-day limit resets each time you re-enter.
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Kyrgyz immigration checks the 6-month validity from your entry date. If your passport expires sooner, you'll be turned away. No exceptions.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at the border or airport
At Manas International Airport in Bishkek or any land border crossing, join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Have your passport and boarding pass ready.
2
Present your passport
Hand over your passport. The officer will check your validity, look for a blank page, and may ask about your plans. Answer honestly — tourism, business, or transit.
3
Receive your entry stamp
If everything's fine, you'll get a stamp in your passport with the date of entry and the maximum stay (60 days). No fee, no form. The whole process takes 1-2 minutes.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, grab your bags from the carousel and walk through customs. Green channel if you have nothing to declare, red channel if you're carrying more than $10,000 or restricted goods.

Frequently asked questions

No, the visa-free stay is not extendable. If you want to stay longer, you must leave the country (e.g., to Kazakhstan or Uzbekistan) and re-enter. Each entry resets the 60-day clock.
For stays under 60 days, no registration is required. If you stay longer (which isn't possible without leaving and re-entering), you'd need to register. For short visits, just keep your entry stamp safe.
You'll be denied entry. Renew your passport before traveling. Kyrgyz immigration is strict on this — no exceptions.
No. The visa-free entry is for tourism, business meetings, and transit. Any paid work requires a separate work visa or permit. If you're caught working without one, you risk deportation and a ban.
No, there's no departure tax for foreigners. You just walk through security and board your flight. No extra payments at the airport.
Overstaying is taken seriously. You'll be fined (around 1,000–5,000 KGS, roughly $12–$60) and may be banned from re-entering for a period. Always leave on time or before.
No, if you're just transiting (staying airside or leaving the airport within 60 days), the same visa-free rules apply. You don't need a separate transit visa.
