Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of stay
Your passport must be valid for at least the period you plan to stay in Namibia. Carry a photocopy of the bio-data page separately.Required
Visa on arrival
Obtain at the port of entry
Lithuanian passport holders can get a visa on arrival at Hosea Kutako International Airport and other land borders. Have cash (USD or NAD) ready for the fee — cards are not always accepted. The visa is typically valid for up to 90 days.Check visa detailsRequired
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Namibia
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed copy or show it on your phone. Overland exit plans may also be accepted if you can document them.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Have a hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host ready. Officers occasionally ask for it, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Carry bank statements or a credit card showing you have enough funds for your stay. There is no fixed minimum, but around NAD 1,000 per day is a safe benchmark.Recommended
Cash only for visa fee
The visa on arrival fee must be paid in cash — Namibian dollars or South African rand. There is no ATM at the immigration counter, so bring enough cash with you. Cards are not accepted.
Check your visa stamp before leaving
Immigration officers sometimes make mistakes. Before you walk away from the counter, check that the validity dates and number of entries are correct. It's much easier to fix it on the spot than later.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at immigration counter
At Windhoek's Hosea Kutako International Airport or any land border, join the 'Visitors' queue. Have your passport, boarding pass, and return ticket ready.
2
Present documents and pay visa fee
Hand over your passport and any requested documents. The officer will process your visa on arrival — you'll need to pay the fee (usually around NAD 1,200, roughly €60, cash only). Keep the receipt.
3
Receive visa and enter
The officer will stamp your passport with the visa sticker. Check that the validity dates are correct. You're then free to proceed to baggage claim and exit.
