Luxembourg passport holders can enter Ukraine without a visa for stays up to 90 days within any 180-day period. This policy has been in effect since 2017 and remains valid in 2026. Ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport needs to be valid only for the period you plan to stay in Ukraine. Airlines may ask for 6 months validity beyond your departure date — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Ukraine
Border officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket showing you leave within 90 days. Have a printed or digital copy ready — budget airlines check this before boarding.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Immigration may ask where you're staying. A hotel confirmation or a letter from your host with their address is enough. Keep a copy on your phone.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Officers can request evidence of sufficient funds — roughly €45 per day of stay. A recent bank statement or credit card showing available credit works.Recommended
Overstaying is costly
The 90-day limit is strict. Overstaying even by a day can result in a fine and a potential entry ban. Mark your exit date on your calendar the moment you arrive.
Keep your passport handy
Ukrainian law requires you to carry your passport (or a certified copy) at all times. Police can ask for ID on the street. A photo on your phone is not accepted.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents
Before you leave, check your passport validity (6+ months from entry), print or screenshot your return ticket and first night's booking. Get travel insurance and a local eSIM if you want data on arrival.
2
Arrive at the border
At any Ukrainian airport (Kyiv Boryspil, Lviv, Odesa) or land border crossing, join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Have your passport and any supporting documents ready.
3
Present your passport
Hand over your passport. The officer will check your photo, validity, and blank pages. They may ask about your purpose of visit and length of stay. Answer clearly and briefly.
4
Receive entry stamp
If everything is in order, you will get an entry stamp with the date. That stamp marks the start of your 90-day visa-free period. Keep your passport safe — you will need it for hotels and police checks.
5
Exit before 90 days
Make sure you leave Ukraine before the 90-day limit. Overstaying can result in fines, deportation, or a ban. Extensions are not available for visa-free stays.
