Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to stay in Armenia. Border officers at Zvartnots Airport check this carefully. No minimum validity beyond your departure date is required.
Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Armenia
Immigration officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket at the border. Have a printed or digital copy of your outbound booking ready. Airlines also check this before boarding.
Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Border officers may ask where you're staying, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary. Have a hotel confirmation or a letter from your host ready. Booking.com or Airbnb confirmations work fine.
Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Officers can ask for proof you have enough money for your stay. Carry a bank statement or credit card showing available funds. No fixed minimum amount is published, but having around $50 per day is a safe benchmark.
Recommended
No visa needed — just show up
Latvian passport holders don't need to apply for a visa, pay any fee, or fill out any online form before traveling to Armenia. The 180-day allowance resets each calendar year, so you can visit multiple times.
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Border officers check that your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your entry date. If it's close to expiring, renew it before you go. No exceptions.
What happens at the border
1
Arrive at the border
Whether you fly into Zvartnots Airport in Yerevan or cross by land from Georgia, Iran, or Turkey, head to the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Have your passport ready.
2
Present your passport and answer questions
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask how long you're staying and where you're staying. Answer clearly. They'll stamp your passport — that's your entry permission.
3
Collect your luggage and exit
After the stamp, proceed to baggage claim (if flying) and then customs. There's no separate visa fee or form to fill out. You're free to enter.
Enter your arrival date and we'll tell you exactly when you need to leave.
