Prepare your documents before departure

Arrive at Quito or Guayaquil airport
Most international flights land at Mariscal Sucre International Airport (UIO) in Quito or José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport (GYE) in Guayaquil. Follow signs to 'Migración' (Immigration).

Present your passport at immigration
Hand over your passport to the officer. They will ask for your return ticket and possibly your accommodation booking. Answer clearly — they may ask how long you plan to stay (up to 90 days). The officer stamps your passport and you're in.

Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, head to baggage claim, then customs. There's usually a green/red channel — if you have nothing to declare, go through the green channel. Then you're free to leave the airport.
