Montenegro entry requirements for Latvia passport holders
Latvian passport holders can enter Montenegro without a visa for stays up to 90 days within any 180-day period. This policy has been in place since 2024 and remains unchanged. Just show up with your passport and a return ticket.
Entry requirements
| Requirement | Details | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Valid passport Must be valid for the duration of your stay | Your Latvian passport needs to be valid for your entire stay in Montenegro. No minimum validity period beyond your departure date is required. Carry your passport with you at all times — police checks happen, especially in coastal towns. | Required |
| Return or onward ticket Proof of departure from Montenegro | Immigration officers at Podgorica and Tivat airports ask for a return or onward ticket. A bus or ferry ticket out of Montenegro also works. If you overstay the 90-day limit, you face a fine of €200–€500 and a possible entry ban. | Recommended |
| Proof of accommodation Hotel booking or host invitation | Officers occasionally ask for a hotel confirmation or a letter from your host. Have a printed or digital copy ready. Airbnb bookings are accepted — just make sure the address matches what you tell the officer. | Recommended |
| Proof of funds Show you can support yourself | Border officials may ask how you'll fund your stay. Have a bank statement or credit card showing at least €50 per day. Cash is rarely checked, but having €500–€1,000 in euros avoids any questions. | Recommended |
