Latvian passport holders need an eVisa to visit Pakistan. The online application is straightforward and typically processed within a few days. Plan ahead and have your documents ready before you travel.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply online before travel
Apply for your Pakistan eVisa at the official NADRA portal. Processing takes 7–10 business days for most nationalities. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport — immigration at Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi will ask to see both.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for entire stay
Your Latvian passport needs at least one blank page for the entry stamp. Pakistan does not enforce a 6-month validity rule beyond your stay dates, but airlines may check for it at check-in.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Pakistan
Immigration officers at all Pakistan airports routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. If you overstay your eVisa, you pay a fine of 20,000 PKR (~$70) at the airport before departure.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Have a printed hotel confirmation or a letter from your host with their CNIC number ready. Immigration at Karachi and Lahore sometimes ask for it, especially if you arrive without a pre-booked hotel.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can cover your stay
Carry a bank statement or credit card showing at least $200 USD per day of your stay. Officers rarely ask for it, but if they do, you need to show access to cash or a card.Recommended
eVisa only for tourism and business
The Pakistan eVisa is for tourism, business, or transit. If you're visiting for work, study, or long-term stay, you need a different visa type from the Pakistani embassy.
Overstaying is serious
Overstaying your visa can lead to fines, detention, or a ban from re-entering Pakistan. Leave before your visa expires.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Pakistan eVisa portal (visa.nadra.gov.pk) and complete the application. Upload a scanned copy of your passport photo page and a recent passport-style photo. Pay the fee online. Processing usually takes 3–5 working days.
2
Receive and print your eVisa
Once approved, you'll receive the eVisa by email. Print a copy and keep it with your passport. Also save a digital copy on your phone.
3
Prepare your documents for arrival
Before you land, have your passport, printed eVisa, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation ready. Keep them in your hand luggage.
4
Arrive at a Pakistani airport
You'll enter through major international airports like Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, or Peshawar. Go to the immigration counter for foreign passport holders. Hand over your passport and eVisa. The officer may ask about your stay and return plans. Answer clearly and politely.
5
Get your passport stamped
The immigration officer will stamp your passport with the entry date and the duration of your stay. Check the stamp before leaving the counter. If anything looks wrong, ask the officer to correct it.
