Yellow fever certificate is a must
Even if you're not coming from a yellow fever risk country, Ghana immigration will ask for the certificate. Get vaccinated at least 10 days before travel and carry the original document.

What happens at the border

Apply for the Ghana eVisa online
Go to https://evisa.immigration.gov.gh/ and fill out the application form. You'll need your passport details, travel dates, and a digital photo. Pay the fee online – $260 USD for standard processing (96 hours) or $442 for express (5 hours).

Receive your eVisa by email
Once approved, you'll get an email with your eVisa document. Print it out – you'll need a hard copy to show at check-in and at immigration in Accra.

Arrive at Kotoka International Airport (ACC)
After landing, follow signs to immigration. Present your passport, printed eVisa, and yellow fever certificate. The officer will check your details and stamp you in. Have your return ticket and accommodation info ready in case they ask.

Proceed to baggage claim and customs
After the immigration stamp, collect your luggage and pass through customs. Declare any items if required – Ghana has strict rules on certain goods.
