Libyan passport holders need a visa before traveling to Hong Kong. Apply online through the Hong Kong Immigration Department's e-Visa portal. Processing takes up to 4 weeks, and you'll receive an e-Visa to print and carry.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for the entire stay
Your passport must be valid for at least the full duration of your stay in Hong Kong. No minimum validity beyond departure is required by Hong Kong immigration, but your airline may enforce 6 months validity — check with them before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Outbound travel proof
Immigration officers routinely ask for proof of onward travel at Hong Kong airport. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or onward ticket ready. Without one, you may be denied boarding or entry.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a hotel confirmation or a letter from your host in Hong Kong. Immigration may ask for it during the interview at the border, especially if you're staying more than a few days.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient financial means
Be ready to show bank statements or cash equivalent to cover your stay. Hong Kong doesn't publish a fixed minimum, but having around 3,000 HKD per day is a safe benchmark. Immigration officers can ask for proof of funds at entry.Recommended
eVisa required — no visa on arrival
Libyan passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival in Hong Kong. You must have your eVisa approved and printed before you fly. Airlines will check this at check-in.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you arrive in Hong Kong, not from your departure date. If it expires sooner, renew it before applying for the eVisa.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the Hong Kong Immigration Department's eVisa portal. Fill in your personal details, passport info, and travel plans. Upload a digital passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (typically around HKD 230) by credit card. Processing takes 3–5 working days, sometimes longer.
2
Receive and save your eVisa
You'll get an email with your eVisa approval as a PDF. Print a paper copy and also save it on your phone. You'll need to show it at airline check-in and to immigration officers in Hong Kong.
3
Prepare your documents for travel
Before you leave, gather: passport (valid 6+ months), printed eVisa, return/onward ticket, hotel booking confirmation, and travel insurance details. Keep them in your carry-on.
4
Arrive at Hong Kong International Airport (HKG)
Follow signs to 'Arrivals' and then 'Immigration'. Join the queue for 'Visitors' or 'Foreign Passports'. Have your passport, eVisa, and boarding pass ready. The officer may ask your purpose of visit, how long you're staying, and where you're staying. Answer clearly. They'll stamp your passport and you're in.
