What happens at the border

1
Apply for the Kenya eVisa online
Go to the official Kenya eVisa website (etakenya.go.ke). Fill in your personal details, passport info, travel dates, and upload a passport-style photo and your passport data page. Pay the fee (around $30–$50 depending on visa type) with a credit or debit card. Processing usually takes 2–5 business days, but apply at least a week before your trip.
2
Receive and print your eVisa approval
Once approved, you'll get an eVisa document by email. Print a copy and save a PDF on your phone. You'll need to show it at the check-in counter and again on arrival in Kenya.
3
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) or Moi International Airport (MBA)
At immigration, present your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket. The officer will stamp your passport — no additional forms needed. The queue can take 30–60 minutes during peak hours.
