RequirementDetailsStatus
Visa application
Apply for a visa before travel

Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your stay
Your passport needs at least 6 months of validity remaining from your departure date from Mongolia. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Mongolia
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed copy or show it on your phone. Without one, you may be refused entry at Ulaanbaatar airport.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Keep a copy of your hotel reservation or a letter from your host in Mongolia. Border officers rarely ask, but having it ready avoids delays if they do.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can cover your stay
Carry bank statements or a credit card showing you have enough money for your trip. Immigration may ask how you plan to support yourself — a daily budget of around $50 USD is a safe benchmark.Recommended
Visa required — no exceptions
Libyan passport holders cannot enter Mongolia without an approved e-visa. There is no visa on arrival and no visa waiver. Apply well in advance.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the e-visa online
Go to evisa.mn and fill out the application. Upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee online. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days, but can be longer during peak times.
2
Receive your visa approval
You'll get an email with your approved e-visa. Print it out and keep a digital copy on your phone. The visa is usually valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
3
Arrive at Ulaanbaatar (Chinggis Khaan International Airport)
At immigration, present your passport, printed e-visa, and return ticket. The officer will stamp you in. The whole process takes 10–15 minutes if your documents are ready.
