Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus

Valid passport
Must be valid on arrival
Your passport must be valid for at least the duration of your stay in Pakistan. No minimum validity beyond departure is required by Pakistani immigration, but airlines may enforce 6 months — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration at Pakistani airports routinely asks for a confirmed return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or a digital booking ready. Airlines also check this before boarding.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Pakistan. Immigration may ask where you're staying, especially if you're on a tourist eVisa.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have bank statements or a credit card ready. Pakistani immigration rarely asks for a specific amount, but you should be able to cover your stay. $500–$1,000 USD equivalent is a safe range.Recommended
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Pakistan, not from your departure date. If it expires sooner, renew it before applying.
eVisa is single entry only
The standard eVisa allows one entry. If you leave Pakistan (even to a neighbouring country), you'll need a new visa to re-enter.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Pakistan eVisa portal at visa.nadra.gov.pk. Fill in the application form, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee online (typically around $60–$100 depending on nationality). Processing takes 3–7 working days.
2
Receive your eVisa approval
You'll get an email with a PDF of your eVisa. Print a copy and save it on your phone. The eVisa is usually valid for 90 days from issue, for a single entry.
3
Arrive at a Pakistani airport
At immigration, present your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket. The officer will stamp your passport. Major entry points are Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, and Peshawar airports.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After clearing immigration, collect your bags from the carousel and proceed through customs. If you have nothing to declare, use the green channel.
