Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of stay
Your passport needs to be valid for your entire stay in Colombia. Airlines at departure check this before boarding — if your passport expires before you leave Colombia, you will be denied boarding.Required
Check-Mig pre-registrationCheck-Mig: Colombia's mandatory online pre-registration form at migracioncolombia.gov.co. Complete it within 72 hours before your flight — it takes under 5 minutes.
Mandatory online form for all travellers
Complete the free Check-Mig form at migracioncolombia.gov.co within 72 hours before your flight. You get a QR code — save it on your phone or print it. Immigration officers scan it on arrival.Open Check-Mig formRequired
Return or onward ticket
Proof of exit from Colombia
Immigration officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket showing you leave Colombia within 90 days. Airlines also check this at check-in. A bus ticket to Ecuador or a flight to Panama works.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Have a hotel reservation or a letter from your host ready. Immigration rarely asks for it, but if they do, a simple booking confirmation on your phone suffices.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Carry a credit card or bank statement showing access to funds. Immigration does not enforce a minimum amount, but having a card with a few hundred dollars available avoids problems.Recommended
Check-Mig is mandatory
Complete the free Check-Mig form at migracioncolombia.gov.co 1-5 days before your flight. Without it, you may be delayed at immigration or denied boarding. Save the confirmation.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Colombia, not from your departure date. If it expires sooner, renew before traveling.

Frequently asked questions

No, the visa-free entry is not extendable. You must leave Colombia before the 90 days are up. If you want to stay longer, you'd need to apply for a visa before traveling or leave and re-enter (though re-entry rules can be strict).
Overstaying can result in fines (around 2-3 USD per day overstayed) and a ban from re-entering Colombia for a period. Always track your entry date and leave on time.
Not required for entry from Morocco, but recommended if you plan to visit Amazon regions or national parks. Some airlines may ask for proof, so check with your carrier.
The visa-free entry is for tourism and business (meetings, conferences). Remote work for a foreign employer is generally tolerated, but officially you need a work visa for any Colombian-source income. Check with the Colombian consulate if unsure.
Report it immediately to the nearest police station and get a police report. Then contact the Moroccan embassy in Bogotá (Calle 93 No. 14-20, Piso 8) for an emergency passport. You'll need a copy of your passport and the police report.
No, there is no visa on arrival. You enter visa-free for up to 90 days. No application or fee is needed before travel.
Not officially required, but immigration officers may ask if they suspect you can't support yourself. Having a credit card or bank statement handy is a good precaution.
