Valid passport
6 months validity required
Your Moroccan passport must have at least 6 months of remaining validity beyond your intended departure date from Equatorial Guinea. Airlines at Casablanca check this strictly before boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers at Malabo Airport routinely ask for a confirmed return or onward flight. Have a printed itinerary or digital booking ready. Overstaying your visa can result in fines at the airport.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Equatorial Guinea. Immigration may ask where you're staying, especially if you're arriving without a pre-booked hotel.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show sufficient cash or card
Have at least 200,000 XAF (or equivalent in EUR/USD) in cash or a credit card statement. Immigration rarely checks, but it's safer to have proof of financial means for your stay.Recommended
eVisa is mandatory — no exceptions
Moroccan citizens cannot enter Equatorial Guinea without an approved eVisa. There is no visa on arrival, and border officials strictly enforce this. Apply well in advance.
Keep printed copies of everything
Immigration at Malabo and Bata airports may not have reliable internet to verify digital documents. Always carry printed copies of your eVisa, passport, and return ticket.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Equatorial Guinea eVisa website. Fill in your personal details, passport info, travel dates, and upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee online. Processing usually takes a few business days.
2
Receive and print your eVisa
Once approved, you'll get the eVisa by email. Print at least two copies — one for immigration on arrival and a backup. Also save a digital copy on your phone.
3
Prepare your documents for departure
Before heading to the airport, gather: passport (6+ months validity), printed eVisa, return/onward ticket, hotel booking confirmation, and travel insurance (if you have it). Keep them in your carry-on.
4
Arrival at Malabo or Bata airport
At immigration, present your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket. The officer may ask for your accommodation address. Answer clearly. After stamping, you're free to enter. The process is usually straightforward if your documents are in order.

Frequently asked questions

Processing usually takes 3–5 business days, but can be longer during holidays. Apply at least 2 weeks before your trip to be safe.
No. There is no visa on arrival for Moroccan passport holders. You must have an approved eVisa before you travel.
The official eVisa fee varies depending on the type and duration. As of 2026, expect to pay around $100–$150. Check the official portal for the exact amount.
You will be denied entry. Renew your passport before applying for the eVisa. The 6 months are counted from your date of entry into Equatorial Guinea.
Yes, a yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for all travelers over 9 months old arriving from countries with risk of yellow fever transmission. Morocco is not a yellow fever endemic country, but if you have recently traveled to an endemic area, you'll need the certificate. Check with your doctor.
The eVisa is not extendable. If you need to stay longer, you must leave and reapply for a new eVisa, or contact the immigration office in Malabo before your visa expires to inquire about extensions.
You will likely be denied boarding by the airline or refused entry at immigration. Always carry a printed copy of your eVisa approval. A digital copy on your phone is not sufficient — print it.
