Required for entry
Immigration at Baghdad International Airport will ask to see a confirmed return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot ready on your phone.Required

eVisa is mandatory — no visa on arrival
Moroccan passport holders cannot get a visa at the airport or land border. You must apply and receive approval before you fly. Arriving without an eVisa means you'll be denied entry and sent back.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your eVisa, passport, and hotel booking as PDFs on your phone and in cloud storage. If you lose your printed documents, you can still show them on your phone at immigration.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official eVisa website (evisa.iq) and fill out the application. Upload a digital passport photo and a scan of your passport's bio page. Pay the fee online. Processing usually takes 2–5 business days, but can be longer during holidays.
2
Receive and save your eVisa
Once approved, you'll get a PDF via email. Print a copy and also save it on your phone. You'll need to show it at the immigration counter when you arrive.
3
Prepare your documents for arrival
Before you land, have your passport, printed eVisa, return ticket, and hotel booking easily accessible. At Baghdad International Airport (BGW), head to the immigration hall, join the queue for foreign passports, and present your documents. The officer will stamp your passport and let you through.
4
Arrange connectivity and transport
After clearing customs, you can activate your eSIM or buy a local SIM at airport kiosks. Taxis and ride-hailing apps like Careem are available outside the terminal. Have your hotel address ready in Arabic or show it on your phone.
