Apply for a visa before travel
You need a visa to enter Mongolia. Apply at the nearest Mongolian embassy or consulate before departure — there is no visa on arrival for Moroccan passport holders. Processing takes 5–10 working days, so plan ahead.Apply for visaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your stay
Your passport must have at least 6 months of validity remaining from your date of entry into Mongolia. Airlines check this before boarding, and immigration at Ulaanbaatar Airport enforces it strictly.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Mongolia
Immigration officers at Chinggis Khaan International Airport routinely ask for a confirmed return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or a digital version on your phone ready to show.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a hotel reservation, hostel booking, or a letter of invitation from your host in Mongolia. Border officers may ask where you are staying, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can cover your stay
Have bank statements or a credit card ready to demonstrate you have enough money for your trip. Immigration may ask for proof of funds if you look like you might overstay or work illegally.Recommended
No visa on arrival
Moroccan passport holders cannot get a visa at the airport or land border. You must apply for an e-visa before you travel. Without an approved visa, you will be refused boarding.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you arrive in Mongolia, not from the day you apply. If your passport expires sooner, renew it first.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the e-visa online
Go to evisa.mn, fill out the application, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $50 USD for a tourist visa). Processing usually takes 3–5 business days. You'll receive the visa by email as a PDF.
2
Print or save your visa approval
Print a copy of the e-visa approval email, and also save it on your phone. Mongolian immigration may ask to see it at the border.
3
Arrive at the airport or land border
At Ulaanbaatar's Chinggis Khaan International Airport (or at a land crossing like Altanbulag), join the foreign passport queue. Hand over your passport, visa approval, and return ticket. The officer will stamp you in. Keep the arrival stamp safe — you'll need it when you leave.
4
Show your accommodation booking
Immigration may ask where you're staying. Have your hotel confirmation ready — a printed copy or a screenshot on your phone is fine.
