Proof of departure from Israel
Immigration officers at Ben Gurion Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready showing you leave Israel within your visa's validity period.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel reservation, hostel booking, or a letter from your host in Israel. Officers may ask for it during entry questioning, especially if you're staying more than a few days.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have bank statements, a credit card, or cash (at least 1,500 ILS per week) ready. Border officials rarely ask, but it's smart to have evidence of sufficient funds for your stay.Recommended
Visa required — apply early
Madagascar passport holders cannot enter Israel without a pre-approved visa. Start your application at least 3 weeks before your trip to avoid delays.
Passport validity counts from entry, not departure

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the visa online
Go to the official Israeli visa portal at https://israel-entry.piba.gov.il. Fill out the application form, upload your passport scan and a recent photo, and pay the fee (around 100 ILS). Processing usually takes 5–10 business days.
2
Wait for approval
You'll receive an email with your visa approval. Print it out and keep a digital copy on your phone. The visa is usually valid for 3 months from issue date.
3
Arrive at Ben Gurion Airport (TLV)
At passport control, hand over your passport and printed visa approval. The officer may ask about your itinerary, accommodation, and return ticket. Answer clearly and calmly.
4
Get your entry stamp
Once cleared, the officer stamps your passport. You're usually allowed to stay up to 90 days. Keep the stamp visible — you'll need it when leaving.
