Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Hong Kong Visit Visa (eVisa)
Apply for a Hong Kong Visit Visa online through the Immigration Department's portal. Processing takes 4–6 weeks, so submit your application well before your travel date. You will receive an e-Visa letter to print and carry with your passport.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 1 month beyond your intended stay
Your Myanmar passport needs at least one month of validity remaining after your planned departure from Hong Kong. Airlines check this at check-in, and immigration officers enforce it strictly.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of onward travel
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed return or onward flight ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready — budget airlines may deny boarding without it.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Hong Kong. Officers rarely ask, but having it avoids delays if they do.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient cash or bank statement
Show at least HKD 3,000–5,000 per day of stay, or a bank statement proving you can cover your expenses. Immigration may ask for this if your stay is longer than a few days.Recommended
eVisa is mandatory — no exceptions
Myanmar passport holders cannot enter Hong Kong without an approved eVisa. There is no visa on arrival or visa waiver. Apply well in advance.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your eVisa, passport, and booking confirmations as PDFs on your phone and in cloud storage. If you lose your printed copies, you can still show them at immigration.
