What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to evisa.e-gov.kz/en/, fill in your details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $80–$100 USD depending on processing speed). You'll get a confirmation email within a few days.
2
Pack your documents
Print a copy of the eVisa approval email, or save it as a PDF on your phone. Also have your return ticket, hotel booking, and insurance policy ready — either printed or easily accessible.
3
Arrive at Almaty or Nur-Sultan airport
At immigration, hand over your passport and eVisa. The officer will check your passport validity and may ask for your return ticket. The process usually takes 5–10 minutes. You'll get an entry stamp valid for up to 30 days.
4
Register with local authorities (if staying more than 5 days)
Your hotel will handle this automatically. If you're staying with friends or in a private apartment, you must register at the local migration police office within 5 days of arrival. The hotel will give you a registration slip — keep it with your passport.

No, the eVisa is not extendable. If you need to stay longer, you must leave and reapply. Maximum stay is 30 days per entry.

Yes, the eVisa is valid for entry at all international border crossings, including land borders from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia. But most travellers fly into Almaty or Nur-Sultan.
Report it immediately to the local police and your embassy (Myanmar embassy is in Nur-Sultan). You'll need a police report and a temporary travel document from your embassy to leave.
Not for the eVisa application or entry, but it's strongly recommended. Medical costs in Kazakhstan can be high — a simple hospital visit can cost $200–$500. Get a policy that covers medical evacuation.
