Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Cameroon eVisa at the official portal. Processing takes 3–5 business days. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport to present at immigration.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Cameroon. Have at least two blank pages for entry and exit stamps.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. A printed itinerary or e-ticket works — they check the date matches your visa validity.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host letter
Have a hotel reservation or an invitation letter from your host in Cameroon. Officers may ask for the address and contact number of where you are staying.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Carry bank statements or a credit card showing access to at least 200,000 CFA francs (~$330 USD) for your stay. Immigration rarely checks this but can ask.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccine required
Cameroon requires proof of yellow fever vaccination for all travellers over 1 year old. Bring your International Certificate of Vaccination (yellow card) — immigration may ask for it on arrival.
eVisa only at major airports
The eVisa is accepted at Yaoundé Nsimalen and Douala International airports. If you're entering by land or sea, check with the Cameroon embassy whether the eVisa is valid for your point of entry.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for eVisa online
Go to the official Cameroon eVisa website (evisacameroon.com). Fill in your personal and travel details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee with a credit or debit card. Processing takes 2–5 business days.
2
Receive and save your eVisa
You'll get the approved eVisa by email. Download and print a copy. Also save a PDF on your phone as backup. Immigration at Yaoundé Nsimalen or Douala International Airport will check it.
3
Prepare your documents for arrival
Before you land, have your passport, eVisa printout, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation ready. Keep them in your hand luggage — not checked bags.
4
Go through immigration at the airport
At passport control, hand over your passport and eVisa. The officer may ask for your return ticket or hotel booking. Answer clearly. You'll get an entry stamp valid for the duration of your eVisa.
