No eVisa option for Mongolian citizens
Even though the UK has an eVisa system for some nationalities, Mongolian passport holders are not eligible. You must apply at the UK Visa Application Centre in Ulaanbaatar. Don’t fall for third-party websites that claim to offer an eVisa — they are not official.
Plan for the 3-week processing time

Complete the online application
Go to the UK Visas and Immigration website and fill out the Standard Visitor visa application. You’ll need to enter your passport details, travel plans, and answer questions about your background. After submitting, you’ll pay the fee and book an appointment.

Book and attend your biometric appointment
At the UK Visa Application Centre in Ulaanbaatar (usually at the VFS Global office), bring your passport, appointment confirmation, and supporting documents. They’ll take your fingerprints and photo. This is a quick process — usually 15–20 minutes.

Wait for the decision
The Home Office processes applications. Standard processing takes about 3 weeks, but it can be longer during peak seasons. You’ll be notified by email when a decision is made. You can track your application online.

Collect your passport
Once approved, your passport will be returned with the visa vignette. You can either pick it up at the VAC or have it couriered to you. Check the vignette details — dates and name — to ensure they’re correct.

Travel to the UK
When you arrive in the UK, go to the ‘Non-EU’ or ‘All passports’ queue at border control. Have your passport with the visa vignette ready. The Border Force officer may ask about your trip and accommodation. You’ll usually get a stamp for your entry, and your visa vignette will be checked.

Mongolian nationals require a Direct Airside Transit Visa (DATV) to transit through the UK airside (without passing through immigration) unless they qualify for an exemption.
