Mongolian passport holders need an eVisa to enter Nigeria in 2025. You must apply and get approval online before you travel — there's no visa on arrival option for Mongolian citizens.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Nigeria eVisa
Apply for a Nigeria eVisa at the Nigeria Immigration Service portal before you travel. The online form asks for your passport details, travel dates, and a digital photo. Approval usually takes 3–5 business days, and you'll receive an eVisa approval letter by email — print it and carry it with your passport.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for the entire stay
Your Mongolian passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Nigeria. Immigration officers at Lagos and Abuja airports check this strictly — if your passport expires sooner, you'll be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of onward travel
Immigration at Nigerian airports routinely asks for a confirmed return or onward flight ticket. Airlines also check this before issuing a boarding pass — without one, you won't fly.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Have a hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host ready. Immigration officers sometimes ask for it, especially if you're arriving without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Bank statement or cash
Carry a recent bank statement or enough cash (at least $200 USD equivalent) to cover your stay. Officers at the border may ask to see proof you can support yourself.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccine required
Nigeria requires proof of yellow fever vaccination for all travellers. Bring your Yellow Card — immigration may check it at the border.
eVisa is single-entry only
The standard tourist eVisa is single-entry. If you leave Nigeria (even for a day trip), you'll need a new visa to re-enter.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the Nigeria Immigration Service portal (portal.immigration.gov.ng). Create an account, fill in your details, upload your passport photo and bio page, and pay the visa fee. Processing takes 3–5 business days. You'll receive an approval letter via email — print it or save it on your phone.
2
Pack your documents
Before you leave home, gather: your passport (valid 6+ months), the eVisa approval letter, your return/onward ticket, and your first night's accommodation confirmation. Keep digital copies on your phone and a printed backup in your carry-on.
3
Arrive at a Nigerian airport
At Lagos (LOS), Abuja (ABV), or Port Harcourt (PHC), proceed to immigration. Present your passport and eVisa approval letter. The officer may ask for your return ticket and accommodation proof — have them ready. Expect a brief interview about your purpose of travel and length of stay.
4
Get your passport stamped
Once approved, the officer will stamp your passport with an entry stamp. Check the stamp says the correct date and duration. Keep the stamp visible — you'll need it when you leave.
