Mongolian passport holders need an eVisa to enter Qatar for tourism or business. The process is entirely online and straightforward — you'll get a digital approval before you travel. As of 2026, this is the standard route for short visits.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Qatar eVisa through the Hukoomi portal. The process takes a few minutes and you'll receive the visa by email. Print a copy to show at check-in and immigration.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of stay
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry into Qatar. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you'll be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Qatar
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed copy or digital booking ready — they'll check it before stamping you in.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Have a hotel reservation or a letter from your host in Qatar ready. Immigration may ask for it, especially if you're staying more than a few days.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Carry a bank statement or credit card showing you have enough funds for your stay. Immigration rarely asks, but it's better to have it than to be turned away.Recommended
eVisa required — no visa on arrival
Mongolian passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival in Qatar. You must apply and receive approval before you fly. Arriving without one means immediate denial of entry.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for 6 months from the day you land in Qatar, not from when you apply for the eVisa. Double-check before you book anything.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the Hukoomi portal (Qatar's official government services site). Fill in your personal details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around 100 QAR, roughly $27 USD) by credit card. Approval usually comes within 1–3 business days.
2
Print or save your eVisa approval
Once approved, you'll get a PDF. Print a copy and also save it on your phone. Immigration at Hamad International Airport in Doha will ask to see it on arrival.
3
Prepare your documents for arrival
Before you land, have your passport, eVisa printout (or phone), return ticket, and accommodation confirmation easily accessible. Keep them in your hand luggage, not checked bags.
4
Go through immigration at Hamad International Airport
After deplaning, follow signs to 'Arrivals' and join the queue for foreign passport holders. Hand over your passport and eVisa. The officer may ask for your return ticket or hotel booking — have them ready. You'll get an entry stamp valid for up to 30 days.

Frequently asked questions

Usually 1–3 business days. Apply at least a week before your flight to be safe. The fee is about 100 QAR ($27 USD), paid online by credit card.
No, the eVisa is not extendable. If you need to stay longer, you'll have to leave and re-enter, or apply for a different visa type before your current one expires.
Yes, any onward ticket works — it just has to show you're leaving Qatar. A flight to a third country is fine.
Your eVisa application will be rejected. Renew your passport first, then apply. The 6-month rule is strictly enforced.
No, that rule doesn't apply to Mongolian passport holders. You need the eVisa regardless of other permits.
You'll be denied entry and sent back on the next flight. There's no visa-on-arrival for Mongolian nationals. Always get the eVisa before you travel.
Not officially, but it's strongly recommended. If you're asked at immigration and don't have it, you might be questioned. Better to have a policy — it's cheap and covers emergencies.
